Construction for the new multipurpose facility that will include a redesigned restaurant will commence later this summer at the Port of Bremerton’s Bremerton National Airport.

Staff received multiple bids for the construction project and Henderson Partners was awarded the project. After working with the FAA, the Port received approval for the new building design and anticipate breaking ground this summer.

Expected to be finished in late spring or early summer 2022, the new building will include a pilot’s lounge, a 58 x 65  foot hangar, and office space as well as the redesigned restaurant. The family-friendly restaurant will be in the same location and approximately the same size as the previous one, but will have a more efficient layout, environmentally conscious lighting and design, outdoor seating, and will have a great view of the airport runway.

“We are looking forward to bringing the airport dining experience back to the community.” Port CEO Jim Rothlin said, “Port staff will work side by side with a consulting team to help select an operator that will best fit this facility and this location.”

Currently, Willie B’s Kitchen is serving burgers and sandwiches at Bremerton National Airport while the diner remains closed. The food truck is open Monday through Friday, approximately 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to all those who fly or drive in.
