Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvements
Each port district operating in the State of Washington was created under the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and is a public port accountable to the people it serves. The Port of Bremerton, established on October 13, 1913, was the fourth public port created in the State.
The original intent of Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvements (CSHI) was to improve the communication between port commissions and the public regarding the general area within which capital improvement projects were likely to be implemented. The Port of Bremerton believes this intent still holds true today.
The Port's CSHI was first adopted in March 1962 and has been updated and amended periodically and is now due for an overall update. The DRAFT Port of Bremerton CSHI was the subject of a Public Hearing on August 14, 2012, and is scheduled for potential adoption at the August 28, Commission Business Meeting.
