2011 Wildlife Fence Project (FAA AIP 3-53-0007-25)
This project completed the enclosure of the extended runway safety area around runway 01/19. The contract
or, Viking Fence out of Gorst, WA installed the 5,600 linear feet of 8’ wildlife fence. The project cost was $105,700- of which 95% was paid for by the FAA.
Cross SKIA (Airport Way) Phase 2.
Preliminary design is underway for the second phase of Airport Way. This project will include the full design of the Old Clifton tie-in intersection, preliminary design of the 9,500 foot roadway section, and the NEPA/SEPA environmental work for Phase 2 and Phase 3 to Lake Flora Road. This work is expected to be completed in the summer of 2012.
2012
Airport Master Plan Update (FAA AIP 3-53-0007-26)
This project will update the 2004 plan and the 2006 Airport Layout Plan (ALP). The estimated cost of this project is $300K, of which 95% is funded by the FAA. Work should begin in the summer of 2012.
Airport Business Plan
The Airport will complete a market assessment and business plan. Primary to the market assessment will be the coordination with the Master Plan update in relation to the potential growth of the Airport, with a focus on the appropriate type of growth in aircraft and commercial aeronautical businesses. This project will begin early in 2012 and is funded by the airport.
